One trend that seems to be appearing more and more recently is the use of wedding signage. And they don’t just make for a great photo opportunity for your photographs. There are so many fantastic ones to choose from to suit the style and tone of your wedding. Whether you opt for functional signs which point people in the right direction or more ‘inspirational’ signs that convey the romanticism of the day they add personal touch to any wedding and most can be individually personalised for you. They can be used anywhere – place them on tables, above doors, in photo booths with guests, and are also a great gift idea for brides and grooms. So point your guests in the right direction with one of these four wedding signs.
2012 is just around the corner and it will be the year of Romance. From the dress to the decor, think – dreamy, sentimental, love. The trends we are likely to see in the year ahead, like always, will be heavily influenced by what’s hot in the fashion world. There are also emerging fads that have nothing to do with fashion, but still will be all over the wedding world.
The dress – You can thank Kate Middleton for the lace trend which will prevail next year and expect to see more lace gowns, long sleeves, cap sleeves and illusion necklines. Romance combined with a modern Victorian twist is set to be big. You can also expect to see: high-low hemlines which combines the best of both worlds: short and long, sexy and sweet, front Slits with peek-a-boo slashes up the centre which gives the gowns great movement, colour gowns in hues like lilac, slate, blush, nude, and even black. Plus Middleton’s sister Pippa has brought back in plunging, low-cut backs neckline with low-dipping cowl backs.
Many photographers say never to shoot into the sun. However, inspired by many fashion and editorial images, I set out to do just this last weekend. Most weddings happen around midday and can result in harsh daylight but it is my job is to embrace whatever your day may throw at me. As a lover of natural light, I always use the sun to my advantage and wanted to share with you a set of images which break the rules but works beautifully. The final images below remind me of Audrey Hepburn meets Jane Austin, classically beautiful and natural. I hope you enjoy the images.
Special thanks to the beautiful Jessica Lamb.
One of my favourite photographers is Ellen Von Unwerth and it just so happens she teamed up with dress designer Jenny Packham for this a campaign earlier this year. I simply love the beautiful images which portray a synergetic glamorous and feminine aesthetic. If you haven’t checked out Packham’s dress then click to view 2011/2012 collections www.jennypackham.com. Packham’s celebrity fans include Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez and Jessica Biel.
