Even after fourteen years, I continue to strive to keep my style fresh and creative, yet relaxed and unobtrusive. I am above all a storyteller, an observer of people, relationships, intimacy, capturing emotions, the love, the laughter and sometimes the tears. I want to capture your day with minimum interruption and provide a story which has timeless appeal. Although I mainly adopt a documentary approach, I am also confident and happy to direct the wedding party for stylish portraits that show personality. For years I always felt wedding photography had been limited to stiff poses without much regard for the underlying story, emotion, romance, and behind-the-scene events of the day itself. However, over the years weddings have changed and become more relaxed and intimate. Couples now incorporate their personalities and passions into their wedding style, opting for a more contemporary approach to their big day and this is why I became a wedding photographer. I believe it is my job to capture and express your love in photographs which are completely unique to you.

HOW I WORK | MY APPROACH

For me, it is essential that your photographs have integrity so I will not put you into any unnatural poses or try to create moments that are not there. A wedding is not about posing for group shots for hours on end. Or photographers overtaking the day. It’s about capturing the important shots efficiently and then following the light, the moments and the real story with just a pinch of traditional portraits for good measure. I like to ensure the atmosphere remains true to the day and love the variety of light the UK weather can determine. Rest assured come rain or sunshine as your photographer, I will provide beautiful photography no matter the weather. A story which has timeless appeal yet relaxed and unobtrusive. Spontaneity is what I believe makes a great photograph; with the right photographer at hand, you won’t even know the beautiful moments I am capturing. If I am lucky enough to shoot your wedding I will cover detailed shots of the decor and photographs of the couple getting ready, through to candid documentary images of the day unfolding and couple portraits with a relaxed vibe where you can enjoy time together. I love getting involved in the action with your guests to ensure I get the moments you may miss and the speeches is the perfect time to see why everyone in the room adores you as a couple. The emotion of the speeches gets me every time! I will also be there on the dance floor and after party so that every aspect of your story in covered.

My mission is to ensure you make the most amazing memories whilst having your photographs taken. It is about the experience from start to finish, a bespoke, personal approach to ensure you are left with a story that reflects the day that feels uniquely like yours. I do not like to confine my style to one type because I believe my approach to wedding photography lends itself to many and I embrace them. I love to capture the details on the day that you have spent so many hours choosing to reflect your taste and preference. I like to adopt a documentary approach to get the story and the moments. The essence of your day. I look to editorial photography for natural, relaxed portraits of my couple. So if I had to box my style it is creative and modern photography – a perfect blend for the couples that want a bit of everything in a relaxed way.

Wedding photography is an experience and one that I believe should be relaxed, personal and dare I say…. enjoyed. Yes enjoyed! I am the perfect photographer for those looking for experience to feel like you are being photographed by a friend that happens to be a professional. To get the best out of my couples my focus is to connect and focus on how you naturally are together. The little looks, the way you embrace, laugh is all-important to create authentic portraits that not only look like you but feel like you. A photographer once said “ a portrait is not made in the camera but on either side of it” and I truly believe my job is to help you feel so comfortable that you will just be your wonderful selves in my presence and that is all I ask. The magic happens in the build-up to that moment and I pride myself in making people feel relaxed and comfortable. Your love for your partner, family and friends inspire me to capture awesome photographs.

My style of editing has warm undertones and an appreciation for the colours and light that lends itself to the day. I want to create a unique edit for every wedding whilst maintaining the signature look I am known for. I love the variety of light the UK has to offer and I embrace this. It can sometimes be light and airy depending on the style of your venue or dark and moody this atmospheric approach will ensure your photographs are unique to your day.

Over the years my edit has evolved and continues to be refined however my main priority is to always create a timeless appeal.
